Loopdeloop Animation Challenge – August Edition

July 21, 2015
by Tim Rabjohns

This is just a quick update to let everyone know that the international animation challenge Loopdeloop is on its way back again.  Once again London animation studio Animade is hosting in the same venue as See No Evil, just a day later…
Following the success of London’s ‘Empathy’-themed debut event in May, this round will be exploring the idea of ‘Ritual’.

LoopdeLoop is a popular bi-monthly challenge, in which animators from around the world create looping animations based on a given theme and upload them to their website for viewers to rate. At the end of every second month, the voters’ favourite loops are compiled and screened to live audiences in Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, Los Angeles, New York and London, where votes take place for a local winner.  I have posted a compilation on the theme of dance above, from a previous round.

Entries are still coming in for the current theme of  “Ritual”, and some are already available to watch on the Loopdeloop site already.  You can always cast your vote after watching.

The London screening will be held at Cafe 1001, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL on Wednesday 5 August, from 7.30pm. It’s free entry and everyone is welcome!

Find out more about the event at the Loopdeloop Facebook page – come and get involved.
