The Landscape Song For Jeep
The Landscape Song is an original concept that FCB Buenos Aires came up with to promote Jeep’s brand new high-fidelity sound system featured in its vehicles. The silhouette of the Andes provided the musical ideas for this project and the tune was created by drawing a pentagram over a selection of mountains. Each mountain peak represented a musical note and the distance between them determined the duration of each note.
However, it was not a literal mathematical process and, as musical director Sebastian Espósito explains, the aim was to find a bond between each mountain and create a graceful and poetic piece. This was performed and recorded by a small ensemble and the video was reproduced in every Jeep so the audio could be tested and also sent by email to Jeep users.
I thought this was a really cool idea to link nature with music. Obviously there are many types of music already in nature, like birdsong, but this was a fresh way of looking at this idea, while keeping it relevant to the brand objectives. Make sure you stop at the Jeep website to download the entire song and find out more about the creative process.
