Kirsty Mitchell – Wonderland
We have never featured a photographer before on dotmogo – but this time I don’t feel bad about making an exception. Kirsty Mitchell’s Wonderland photo collection – really blew my socks off and I think more people should know about this project.
She trained at Ravensbourne, interned with Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan – and then worked for 10 years with Karen Millen before having an artistic epiphany to do with becoming a photographer after travelling and also suffering the loss of her mother to cancer.
All of these things lead her to start and finish an amazing five year project combining all her skills in photography, fashion and story telling. The most amazing thing about this whole project for me was that these photographs are NOT Photoshopped!
It’s inconceivable the amount of painstaking care that went into setting up theses shots (see videos)
She then raised $334,000 on Kickstarter to publish a book of the project – which was released in September 2015 – this was a funding of 500%!
anyway I have put a few shots here – but you should definitely go to her website to see the rest and watch the making videos. Amazeballs.
